Outsiders aren't welcome in Montana

I said what I said... but now hear what it means.
I see this phrase all the time as of late. From California? "We don't want you here." From Washington? Oregon? Anywhere else? "Beat it. Go back to where you came from."
I don't know if it's a product of tension in today's society or if people feel the need to be keyboard warriors. Maybe a little of both
I get it - change is hard. Progress is difficult to watch, but the reality is that it'll happen whether you want it to or not. Here in Montana, Idaho, or anywhere else that is a pretty exceptional place to live.
Whenever I see social media posts where people ask about info on Montana real estate, living, or just simply express their desire to improve their living situation by moving here, so many come out of the wood work to express the need for these folks to turn right back around because they're not welcome here.
What I've found is that it's easier to be negative online because you're not physically in front of someone.
The reality is that the reception of "outsiders" when you actually get here to Montana is nothing short of heartwarming, provided that you aren't bringing the shit show that was your previous home with you.
My experience has been that if you're moving here to better your lifestyle, enjoy everything Montana has to offer, and you're not trying to change what's here, you'll be received with open arms.
I don't disagree that Montana has become quite expensive and that locals are being pushed out because of rising costs. It breaks my heart to see it happen. That being said, it's a product of today's economy, volatility, and craziness that is change and progress.
I'll never fault anyone for wanting to change how they live, as long as they don't try and change where they're moving to.
Also, don't be an a$$hole. It seems that people are too eager to be rude and hostile these days. How about spreading some kindness instead? Lord knows this world could use it.
